So You’re Taking a Gap Year?

The application to medical school is tough. For those of you who have now unfortunately received four letters of rejection after going through this application process, you’ll understandably be feeling disheartened. It’s been a very challenging year for a number of reasons, and this is yet another thing for you to face.

There are a number of things you now need to think about. Do you want to take your back-up choice and go to university this year? Would you rather take a gap year and re-apply for Medicine this October? There are lots of things to consider, which might be feeling a little bit overwhelming. This is why Medic Insight Glasgow are running our event “So You’re Taking a Gap Year?”. There are lots of medical students who go to medical school after taking a gap year, and we want to arm you with all of the information you need to decide a) whether this is something you want to do, and b) how to make the most of your gap year.

Come along to our event at 7pm on Wednesday 2nd June 2021 to hear from current medical students who took a gap year before starting university. There will also be the opportunity to chat with medical students in smaller groups and ask them any questions you might have.

This event will be taking place on Zoom and is free to attend. Spaces will be allocated on a first-come-first served basis. If you are under 18 years of age, your parent or guardian will be required to fill in a permission form before you can attend this event. Sign up here!
