Volunteer with us
Our charity has a permanent board made up of doctors and medical students, who organise events and create original content for our online platforms. The nature of the medical profession means that it is often impossible for all of our board members to come to every event, meaning we are completely reliant on a team of dedicated volunteers to ensure pupils get the most out of their time with the charity. Volunteers are needed from all levels of experience within the profession; from medical students to junior doctors, GPs, consultants and academic doctors.
We hope that every volunteer can find something to become enthusiastic about. Whether it is speaking to inspire high school pupils, talking about the different paths a medical career can take, or coaching applicants with specific skills, there are a huge range of opportunities for volunteers. We encourage volunteers to sign up to our newsletter, meaning you can decide which events are right for you, coming to as many or as few as you would like to, and keep up to date with what we have to offer pupils.
Volunteering with You Can Be A Doctor is a great way to make a positive change to our profession, as we believe that social diversity within medicine is a good thing for doctors and their patients. You could also gain valuable skills in public speaking, online resources and web design or engaging with children which can all be applied to your day job and look great on your CV. If you would like to find out more about volunteering with us, or if you would like to be added to our newsletter mailing list, please get in touch at firstname.lastname@example.org.
